Connie was born in Laurel, Mississippi but now calls Lufkin, Texas Home. Her mother played the piano in church and her father was the music director. At age six she acquired a passion for Perfect Harmony.
As for most of us, Life got busy and Connie's love of music grew but only in her collection of 8 track tapes, cassettes and CD's. Until one day, after all three of her children were grown and finding their own way in life, she found her way back to her personal passion with music.
Always having the desire to play the guitar, in 2005 Connie begins taking guitar lessons and soon was writing her own songs. She enjoys recording and entertaining locally however her passion is writing the songs and melodies.
Connie says “I know it is GOD that puts the songs in my heart. Writing has truly overcome me. My favorite thing to do is;…. Take a bad event or circumstance, REACH for something positive, write it down and make it a song. Then hope that it brings some form of comfort to all that hear the lyrics and melody." A personal favorite quote of Connie’s is: “Life is a Song… write it down and pass it along!”
In 2008 Connie organized her own songwriters association “Write Around Texas LLC” where she could provides a support group and netword for area songwriters. Less than a year after the kick off of WAT she became the Regional Coordinator for the Nashville Songwriters Association International, putting a international spot light on the songwriting in Lufkin. Her most recent accomplishment was organizing the NSAI chapter for Angelina County Jr. College.
